The Polish Navy has taken delivery of the first of four AW101 Merlin maritime ASW helicopters. The AW101s will undergo final tests and acceptances at the PZL Świdnik plant before final acceptance by the Polish Navy.

In 2019, Poland signed a contract for four AW101 helicopters for $430 million to replace its ageing Russian built Mi-14s currently operated from Darłowo air base. These helicopters will be deployed in the Polish Navy, and they will be assigned to anti-submarine roles. The AW101s are also equipped with CSAR module. All four helicopters are expected to be delivered by the end of 2023.
